Tuesday Throwdown Jan 24th - Challenge #327 Anything Goes

Welcome to another Tuesday Throwdown challenge. This week it is a favorite - Anything Goes and our sponsor is Sweet n Sassy Stamps, who generously provided me with  "Peek-a-boo Sophie". Seems I can't get enough flowers this time of year.

I kept the colors used to a minimum, aiming for more of a "pop" effect with her flower head wear. After fussy cutting a bit of a border, she is mounted to a textured green card blank. The card blank is very close to a spruce tree green and unfortunately does not photograph true to color. The dark green really does allow Peek-a-boo Sophie to take center stage and all the colors to pop. Some day I will get the photography part better.

Here she is in all her glory.

As always, please be sure to check out our sponsor's site, without them these challenges wouldn't be possible. Then hop over to Tuesday Throwdown and enter your wonderful creations for challenge 327!

PIP Challenge #1704 - Jan 23rd - All Dressed Up

Two more weeks closer to spring! Speaking of spring, I'm happy you stopped by because I want to invite everyone to join us on the PIP Challenge blog this week. Our sponsor is All Dressed Up and she kindly supplied "Flower Fairy" which I used on my card.

I have been saying I just have this thing for flowers lately (spring fever?) and Flower Fairy certainly has me covered.

She is colored with Copics, wings are glittered in a very soft and pretty glitter called "Honeydew". The frame is a Spellbinder's die "S4-478 Blooming Collection" and cut from a mauve color shifting metallic card stock purchased more years ago than I care to admit. I used a bit of purple glitter ribbon to trim the lower, inside edge of the card, tying it all together. Once again, my photography is a bit washed out. She really is a beautifully soft fairy.

Please remember to visit All Dressed Up and to enter PIP challenge #1704, Anything Goes. I can't wait to see your fabulous creations.

Parting thought:
Are those the magic fairy wands glistening on the tree
or only winter icicles that I see?

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #325 - Snowflake

A new year, a fresh start. Today is my first challenge of 2017 at Tuesday Throwdown. - snowflakes. Our wonderful sponsor is A Day for Daisies. I am using the I Love My Swing digital image.  Please stop by the store. There are so many lovely images, digital and clear polymer, for any occasion.

When I saw this image I immediately thought of a period oh so many years ago, when I spent time in Fort Collins, Colorado for the baptism of my godson. While it was winter, the weather was perfect. The snow fell in big, fat, sparkly flakes that muffled the sounds of everyday life and the temperature did not require bundling up, even at the midnight hour. It also reminds me of my childhood; the hours my sister and I spent on the swings at our local park, singing Camp Fire Girl songs to "entertain" anyone close enough to hear.

I took some liberty with the image by covering her springtime flowers with sparkly snowflakes.   Using my Copics, I attempted to capture the early twilight sky when we are changing from winter to spring. The snowflakes were punched (over and over) from an old Fiskars corner punch because it was the only snowflake thing I had. They are sparkled with Art Institute and Fun Stampers Journey glitters. Sentiment is from The Angel Company.

I hope you enjoyed my take on snowflakes and remember to check out  A Day for Daisies. To play along with us at Tuesday Throwdown just click on the link.  We love seeing all the creativity!

Parting thought: "Snow always inspires such awe in me. Just consider one tiny snowflake alone, so delicate, so fragile, so ethereal. And yet, let a billion of them come together through the majestic force of nature, they can screw up a whole city."   Betty White

CHALLENGE 1702 Jan. 9 Digital Delights by Louby Lou

I don't know how many are aware that there is a new challenge blog in the blog-a-sphere. It's called Pammie's Inky Pinkies or PIP for short. I am thrilled to say I am officially a PIPette! Of course, I won't discuss my inky fingers, mainly because mine are usually glittered, after being inked.  This week is the second challenge for PIP and our sponsor is Digital Delights by Louby Lou. Digital Delights offers, digi stamps, papers and cut files

I used "Dig You Dolly" for my card today. After all, who can resist a bunny?

I colored Dolly with my Copic markers, using the warm grays. The shovel and flower make me think of spring (which I am soooo looking forward to) so I stayed in a springy color range for the rest of the card. The little flowers in front, which are not as bright, but more opalescent, are sequins from Fun Stampers Journey. My base card and overlay are called a "bib" card for obvious reasons.

Here is my card showcasing the ever so cute Dig you Dolly from Digital Delights.

Isn't she a smile inducer!

Now that you've seen what I have made head over to Digital Delights by Louby Loo, shop a bit (Valentine's Day is next, people) and when you are done shopping, get creating. Can't wait to see those entries on the PIP challenge blog.
