PIP Challenge 1808 - Bugaboo Stamps

It's going to be a great week! March arrives midweek so spring is only another month or two away! Sorry, some Midwest humor slipping through. Still it is Monday and time for an anything goes challenge over on the PIP challenge blog. Be sure to play along this week for a chance to win a very generous $12.00 gift certificate at Bugaboo Stamps. Love her store and am always excited when she sponsors a challenge.

I picked Unicorn Kidz, once again stepping out of my comfort zone. I just found it to be irresistible and my mind immediately went to her tail being a rainbow.

Hair, skin and clothing are colored with Copics. The tail was colored with Zig Clean Color watercolor markers. Yes, got a few to play with because sometimes you have to shake things up for the sake of creativity. The colors used are 020 Red, 070 Orange, 050 Yellow and 803 English Lavender. Since I used regular cardstock, I skipped the water and let the colors stand on their own. Even without water they still blended and created another color. Think I'm going to love using them. Horn, star and shoes also were treated to Some Spectrum Noir clear sparkle.

Old SU tags were stamped with words from Color My World (Honey Bee Stamps) and attached to scrap design paper with a brad. Attached this to a 5" x 7" white card blank and using Kaleidacolor ink, Spectrum, stamped "beautiful" ( My Sentiments Exactly) on the card blank.

Suddenly I want to be a Unicorn...

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 380 - Sketch

What a day yesterday. Rain, sleet/ice, hail and snow in a short time span leaves a person confused. Good thing it's Tuesday because I'm sure that means a new Tuesday Throwdown challenge. Today's challenge is sponsored by Sasayaki Glitter and it's a (insert a deep breath here for my sake) sketch!

Sasayaki Glitter provided Party Chooks for my use. Yes, I had to look up the word chook...duh! I should have guessed the meaning from the image, color me red in the face.

Here is the sketch.
Not too complicated and very pleasing to the eye, even for one who quivers in her boots at the thought of a sketch challenge.

The chooks are colored with Prismacolor pencils. For the 3 strips, I used yellow paper that is embossed with balloons and stars (trust me, it is.) The card base is 5" x 7" . I kept the image larger and mounted the "tabs" a bit past the card fold and used fun foam for the 3 dots. The happy birthday sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly and filled in with colored pencil. Kept the color palette on the primary side because they are happy colors for me.

Here is my take on the sketch using the very cute "Party Chooks".
Time for me to go and for you to check out Sasayaki Glitter's shop. Fair warning, lots of things to  look at so allow appropriate shopping time 😁. Just make sure to leave enough time to enter the challenge for your chance to win.

PIP Challenge 1806 - All Dressed Up

The Super Bowl is over, Olympics are in full force and a new PIP Challenge starts. We are sponsored by All Dressed Up this week and it's anything goes. Can it get any better?

My thanks to Wendy for allowing me to play with Russian Dolls. I opted to work with the smaller one, reduced in size for this card.

I admit to having discarding one attempt with Copics and one with polychromo pencils. This one is with watercolor pencils, I love the softer look it gives. Snapshot of colors at the end. She's fussy cut and mounted with pop dots onto a pink piece of Bazzil cardstock. No clue who manufactured the background stamp but it's stamped onto the pink with VersaMark which I rubbed blue chalk over. Sentiment (TAC) stamped with Vivid ink. Everything is mounted on a white card blank.

I'm sure your ready to check out All Dressed Up's offerings and get crafting. Don't get so lost you forget to join in the PIP challenge!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge 378

Tuesday Throwdown challenge time, are you ready? Throw the confetti and celebrate Sparkle n Sprinkle being our sponsor. Did you figure out the theme?

Speaking of confetti and celebrating, I am working with their digital image, Birthday Friends. It's also available in rubber.

I enlarged the happy birthday sentiment as a wall banner and placed the ladies in front of this.  The pre-colored "happy" somewhat guided the Copics used. A bit of sparkle pen here and there, some glaze pens and finished. Here is my card.

Oh yeah, a few CONFETTI (our theme) balloons to add to the celebration.  No, I'm not a slacker as I was intending to use this lovely pile of confetti on my card. Not revealing how - only I haven't mastered what my mind conjured.
Every attempt ended looking like this.

Sometimes you take the victory you're given, not the one you imagined.

I'm finished rambling. Get scooting over to Sparkle n Sprinkle for all sorts of happy shopping/inspiration and then post those beauties at Tuesday Throwdown for a chance to win. I promise to have all the confetti gathered from my floor by the time a winner is announced.
